Job summary

HSBC is seeking a Testing Strategy & QA Governance Consultant (Cyber) to define and implement the Cyber QA Practice. The role will establish testing strategy, maturity frameworks and remediation roadmaps across Cyber teams.

Based in Sheffield with hybrid onsite requirements, you will collaborate with Cybersecurity project teams, Control Owners and the business to deliver governance, metrics, and audit-ready evidence while driving adoption of automated testing practices.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of QA experience with a track record in governance and strategy.
• 2+ years in a QA Manager or QA Architect Lead role.
• Experience supporting QA/audit readiness in regulated environments.
• Certifications such as ISTQB Advanced/Test Manager or audit governance courses.

Responsibilities

• Define Testing Strategy and QA standards across Cyber, including governance and tooling.
• Lead Maturity Framework assessment and remediation planning; drive automation adoption.
• Support Cyber QA Practice Lead and ensure alignment across delivery teams.
• Define and deliver training for Testing Practice members; monitor QA tool adoption.
• Provide audit-ready testing evidence standards and dashboards for adoption tracking.
• Establish KPIs/OKRs for the Cyber QA Team and track delivery and quality improvements.
