Role: Cyber Physical Research Engineer - Consultant

Location: Cambridge

Breakthrough technology is vital for strengthening the UK’s Defence & Homeland Security. As an Embedded Cyber Security Engineer at Awerian, you will be at the forefront of this innovation race by helping to defend and protect the UK from the latest technological and cyber threats.

Responsibilities
  1. Assess critical systems for potential vulnerabilities in collaboration with industry and national defense partners.
  2. Contribute to the development of novel software and hardware cyber defense techniques using a physics-first approach.
  3. Research and analyze the connections between software, hardware, infrastructure, and user interactions to identify vulnerabilities.
  4. Design solutions to protect systems against cyber threats.
Requirements
  • Deep understanding of electronics hardware, software architecture, sensors, and systems in real-world applications.
  • Interest or experience in technology vulnerability research or ethical hacking.
  • Research experience in Engineering, Computer Science, Cyber Security, Physics, or Mathematics.
  • Additional beneficial skills include hardware prototyping, hardware security, simulation, modeling, data analysis, network analysis, programming in C/C++/Python, familiarity with Software Defined Radios, Linux, cryptography, IoT systems, and OSINT.
