Job description

Social network you want to login/join with:

Our Cyber practice is growing. We already have a small but successful national digital team supporting clients across all areas of this expanding sector, including cyber breach support, resilience, and broader coverage issues. We have ambitious plans to grow further.

We are seeking a Partner to join our expanding digital team to focus on providing cyber-related advice to our clients, including insurers and companies. With our transatlantic presence, strong insurance market pedigree, and a mandate to grow our digital practice, this opportunity is truly exciting.

Our current work covers the entire cyber lifecycle, from regulatory and compliance advice aimed at preventing breaches, to acting as breach counsel on critical incidents and providing post-incident support, including defending regulatory enforcement actions and handling insurance claims. We are trusted advisors during highly pressurized, time-sensitive cyber events.

What you will need to be successful in this role:

We seek an individual with extensive experience in managing cyber security incidents who can help develop our UK cyber practice, expand international opportunities through our US presence and Lex Mundi relationships, and leverage our insurance market connections. This role offers a great foundation for a self-starter to lead, develop, and grow a team in a vital area for our clients.

As an experienced leader, you will have a reputation for technical excellence, exceptional client management skills, and a growth-oriented mindset. Our existing digital, privacy, and insurance teams will support your efforts to grow your practice, with ample support for marketing and team development.

To succeed, you should have at least:

  • An enterprising mindset and self-motivation.
  • A proven track record advising clients on responding to cyber security incidents, with established contacts in the cyber insurance market.
  • Exceptional client management skills, especially in supporting clients during difficult, urgent situations.
  • An external profile as a leader in this field, with deep sector understanding and awareness of current trends.
  • A commitment to mentoring and developing junior lawyers.
  • An understanding of delivering legal services at a top 20 law firm, including revenue focus, commercial awareness, and efficient matter management.
  • Admitted as a lawyer in the UK or a similar jurisdiction.
