Job summary

Intelance, a UK advisory and assurance firm, is seeking a qualified Cyber Advisor as an associate contractor to support Cyber Essentials implementation for SMEs. The role involves remote preparation, with client meetings and occasional site visits across the UK.

As an associate contractor, you will work on clearly scoped assignments with a defined day rate. You will join an IASME licensed Certification Body and collaborate with the assurance team while maintaining independence where required.

Qualifications

• Current Certificate of Competence in Cyber Essentials Implementation is required.
• Based in the UK or Crown Dependencies.
• Experience helping SMEs implement Cyber Essentials controls.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Windows, macOS, mobile, firewall and cloud setups.
• Ability to explain risks and fixes in plain English.
• Strong client handling, workshop, documentation and coordination skills.
• Willing to provide qualification evidence before interview and complete IASME onboarding.
• Able to attend UK client sites when required.

Responsibilities

• Advise SMEs on practical implementation of Cyber Essentials controls.
• Review scope, devices, cloud services, user access, firewalls and secure configs.
• Translate technical findings into clear actions for non-technical clients.
• Support remediation planning and evidence before certification.
• Run discovery calls, workshops and progress reviews.
• Produce concise recommendations, action plans and client records.
• Protect client information and follow Intelance procedures.
• Maintain independence where required.
• Keep IASME knowledge up-to-date and complete inductions.
• Collaborate with Intelance assessors and assurance team without compromising independence.
