Job description

Job Title: Cyber Security & DR Consultant

Location: Edinburgh (on-site)

Contract Type: 2-Month Contract

Days: 1 day per week on site

Day Rate: £300 per day (Outside IR35)

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced IT Contractor to support a focused cyber security and infrastructure project. Working onsite one day per week in Edinburgh over a two-month period, the successful candidate will play a key role in enhancing security posture and infrastructure resilience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Disaster Recovery Site Setup:
• Design and implement a functional disaster recovery (DR) site, ensuring continuity and failover capability.
• Microsoft 365 Security Review:
• Assess and optimise M365 security settings and policies to align with best practices.
• Cyber Essentials Plus Implementation:
• Lead the implementation and compliance process to achieve Cyber Essentials Plus certification.
• Server Maintenance & Updates:
• Audit, patch, and update physical and virtual servers to ensure security and performance.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in IT infrastructure and cyber security.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 security frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with Cyber Essentials Plus implementation.
• Familiarity with disaster recovery planning and execution.
• Ability to work independently and deliver outcomes on a part-time basis.
• Available to be onsite in Edinburgh 1 day per week.

Start Date: Immediate or as soon as possible

IR35 Status: Outside IR35

Contract Length: 2 months (with potential extension)
