Job summary

Wrexham University’s Faculty of Arts, Computing and Engineering is recruiting a Principal Lecturer to lead the Cyber and Computing subject area on an 18-month fixed-term basis. The post combines operational and academic leadership of an established team with a strong recent record on student experience, working alongside the Dean and Associate Deans.

The role spans UK, international, online and partnership provision, plus development of the Cyber Innovation Academy.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership and influence in an academic setting.
• Experience leading a multi-disciplinary team and delivering strategic priorities.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational and academic leadership for the Cyber and Computing subject area.
• Lead and support the academic team, including line management of Cyber and Computing staff.
• Maintain academic excellence and support the subject's strategic direction with the Dean and Associate Deans.
• Turn strategic priorities into operational delivery, managing resources and competing priorities.
• Make evidence-informed decisions using information from multiple sources.
• Oversee a portfolio across UK and international, traditional and online delivery, transnational education and academic partnerships.
• Contribute to delivery of the University's 2030 Strategy.
• Work with Principal Lecturers across the Faculty and University to identify opportunities and share effective practice.
• Contribute to the development of the Cyber Innovation Academy.
• Work with regional schools, colleges, employers and industry partners on progression, talent pipelines, external engagement and third stream income.
