MCS Group | Your Specialist Recruitment Consultancy is partnering with a technology business to recruit a Cyber Assurance Lead - Cloud and AI. This role owns assurance across cloud infrastructure, internal systems and AI-enabled applications, shaping security strategy and embedding best practices across engineering, product, DevOps and IT teams.

Qualifications

• Experience implementing and maturing security tooling, including cloud-native platforms such as Wiz or equivalent.
• Practical security knowledge across at least one major cloud provider (preferably AWS).
• Experience operating, auditing or developing ISO management systems, with governance, risk and compliance exposure.
• Experience delivering assurance through continuous monitoring or automated evidence.
• Working knowledge of NIST frameworks.
• Practical understanding of AI security frameworks, including OWASP LLM Top 10 and MITRE ATLAS.
• SC clearance, or eligibility to obtain it.
• CISSP or CCSP certifications are advantageous.

MCS Group is partnering with a technology business operating within the UK Defence and National Security sectors to recruit a Cyber Assurance Lead - Cloud and AI.

This is an opportunity for an experienced cyber security professional to take ownership of assurance across cloud infrastructure, corporate systems and emerging technologies, working closely with engineering teams, security stakeholders and customers.

The Role

Help shape the security strategy and develop the security function's capabilities.

Set security baselines across cloud infrastructure, internal systems and product environments.

Develop and integrate security tooling throughout the software development lifecycle.

Verify security controls through continuous monitoring, automated evidence and independent testing.

Assess the effectiveness of security controls within AI-enabled applications.

Support the maintenance and development of ISO 27001 and other compliance management systems.

Develop AI risk assessments and security posture reporting.

Work across engineering, product, DevOps and IT to embed security best practice.

The Person

To be considered, you should demonstrate:

Experience implementing and maturing security tooling, including cloud-native application protection platforms such as Wiz or equivalent.

Practical security knowledge across at least one major cloud provider (preferably AWS), alongside an understanding of infrastructure and application security.

Experience operating, auditing or developing ISO management systems, with wider governance, risk and compliance exposure.

Experience delivering assurance through continuous monitoring or automated evidence.

Working knowledge of NIST frameworks.

Practical understanding of AI security frameworks, including OWASP LLM Top 10 and MITRE ATLAS.

SC clearance, or eligibility to obtain it.

CISSP or CCSP certification, ISO 42001 experience, hands‑on testing of AI applications, security scripting and compliance‑as‑code experience would be advantageous.
