Cyber and Data Risk Security Consultant
Alexander Mann Solutions (Contingent) Eccles, United Kingdom Apply now

We are AMS. We are a global total workforce solutions firm; we enable organisations to thrive in an age of constant change by building, re-shaping, and optimising workforces. Our Contingent Workforce Solutions (CWS) is one of our service offerings; we act as an extension of our clients' recruitment team and provide professional interim and temporary resources.

We are currently working with our client, Royal London.

On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a Cyber & Data Security Risk Assurance Consultant for a 3 month contract with some potential for extension, based in Edinburgh/Alderley Park (Manchester) on a hybrid basis (2/3 times per week in the office).

Royal London is a financial services company with a difference. As the UK's largest mutual life, pensions and investment company, we're owned by our members and work for their benefit, not for shareholder profits. We've grown rapidly and have been recognised as one of the UK's top rated places to work.

Today, Royal London has over £114 billion of funds under management, and around 3,500 employees working in six offices across the UK and Ireland. We've worked hard to become experts in our specialist markets, building a trusted brand - and our teams have plenty of awards to show for it. Whatever team you're interested in joining and whatever role you play, we'll help you to make a difference.

Purpose of the Role:

The Cyber & Data Security Risk Assurance Consultant will play a key role supporting the Risk and Compliance department efforts within technology change projects, providing expertise in cyber security, data management and conducting assurance reviews.

As a Cyber & Data Security Risk Assurance Consultant, you will be responsible for:

  1. Conducting risk-based independent assurance.
  2. Promoting strong risk culture and behaviours and supporting risk-related communication and management information flows across the Group.
  3. Overseeing processes and mechanisms to identify, record, assess, manage and report Information and Cyber Security related risks.
  4. Independently overseeing and challenging the Group's strategic and business risk profiles and risk appetite assessments.

What we require from the Cyber & Data Security Risk Assurance Consultant:

  1. Experience in cyber security, data management and conducting assurance reviews.
  2. Strong technical skills in cyber security domains such as IAM, Application and Endpoint Security, Security Operations and Incident Response.
  3. Experience in Data Security and Data Privacy, including knowledge of data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), data encryption, secure data storage, and privacy impact assessments.
  4. Solid experience in risk identification, assessment, and mitigation within technology and security domains.
  5. Be able to analyse risk and controls, providing detailed and accurate assessments.
  6. Show solid understanding of risk management principles.
  7. Previous experience in internal audit or as an auditor.
  8. Experience in cyber security and/or data protection, ideally within financial services or other regulated industries.
