Job summary

Admiral Money is seeking a technically sharp Cyber Security Analyst to join our small cyber team. This hands-on role covers monitoring, incident response, vulnerability management and security tooling across our systems.

You’ll work in a fast-paced environment, contribute to security initiatives, and gain exposure to cutting-edge technologies while shaping how we protect customer data and assets.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Cyber Security or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in information security or technology function.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor security tools and systems (SIEM/EDR) to detect and respond to threats.
  • Investigate security alerts, determine root cause, and support incident response.
  • Assist with vulnerability management and coordinate remediation with other teams.
  • Assist in developing and enforcing security policies, standards and procedures.
  • Perform audits and reviews of systems, applications, and user activities.
  • Help develop Cyber awareness and education programmes with the team.
  • Maintain and improve incident response and security configuration documentation.
  • Assist in governance, risk and compliance activities.

We’re looking for a technically sharp, curious, and self-driven Cyber Security Analyst to join our small but dynamic cyber team here at Admiral Money.

Role Overview

As a cyber generalist, you'll work across a wide range of cyber operations activities, from monitoring alerts and responding to incidents, to supporting projects that improve our security posture. You’ll be comfortable getting stuck into a variety of tasks - whether that’s responding to Cyber incidents, performing vulnerability assessments, assisting with the automation of processes, or helping roll out new tools and technologies. There’s plenty of day‑to‑day Cyber Ops work, but also opportunity to contribute to exciting initiatives that shape how we do cyber security within Admiral Money. Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor security tools and systems (e.g., SIEM, EDR) to detect and respond to threats (rotated on-call will be required out of hours).
  • Investigate security alerts, determine root cause, and support incident response activities.
  • Assist with vulnerability management activities and coordinate remediation with other business teams.
  • Assist in the development and enforcement of security policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Perform audits and reviews of systems, applications, and user activities.
  • Help develop our Cyber awareness and education programme alongside other members of the Cyber team.
  • Maintain and improve documentation for incident response, security configurations, and system baselines.
  • Assist in our governance, risk and compliance activities.
Essential Requirements
  • Degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in an information security or technology function.
  • Strong technical foundation across IT systems and networks, with a solid grasp of security principles and how they apply in real‑world environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to assess complex issues and define and implement solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbally.
Desirable Requirements
  • Experience of specific cyber technologies (for example SIEM tools, EDR tools etc).
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure and GCP.
  • Experience with Python or similar languages.
  • Familiarity with frameworks such as NIST, MITRE ATT&CK, or CIS Controls.
  • Familiarity with risk management concepts.
  • Familiarity with GenAI technologies -Specifically LLM based prompt engineering.
