Location: Chelmsford, Essex
Salary: From £31,000 per year + Bonus Scheme
Working Hours: Monday - Friday, Full-Time

The Role:
We are seeking an experienced Customs Specialist to support and develop a growing customs team. This role is ideal for someone with strong knowledge of customs procedures, who can provide expert guidance on various types of entries, including foodstuffs and dangerous goods. You will also assist with compliance, training, and business development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support and training to team members on customs-related queries
  • Handle post-clearance documents and train others in this process
  • Assist in preparing for HMRC audits
  • Ensure compliance with customs regulations and best practices
  • Process customs entries as needed

Day-to-day tasks include:

  • Loading jobs in Multifreight when required
  • Preparing CDS entries
  • Ongoing learning and training on customs regulations

What We're Looking For:

Essential:

  • Strong experience handling various types of customs entries
  • Ability to train and support team members
  • Knowledge of post-clearance procedures

Desirable:

  • Experience with Far-East imports
  • Understanding of niche clearance processes
  • Experience with exports to the EU, USA, and Far-East
