How You Will Contribute

DP World holds an AEO-F license in the Netherlands under which the customs departments are operating. For several customers we run a bonded warehouse in which we perform multiple customs related activities. Freight forwarding is insourcing their customs activities where the Dutch customs team and especially this role is playing a big part in supporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Customs Documentation & Declarations: Prepare and process accurate customs documentation for both import and export declarations, supporting our expanding scope and new customer requirements in the Netherlands.
• Trade Compliance & Regulation: Ensure all customs activities are executed and communicated promptly, maintaining strict adherence to national and EU Customs/Tax regulations and internal policies.
• Audit & Optimization: Conduct internal audits on recorded customs files to identify and resolve omissions, ensuring full compliance and continuous improvement in customs procedures.
• Operational Excellence: Actively contribute to a culture of compliance and efficiency, upholding DP World’s principles and values in all interactions.

Your Essential Qualifications

• Customs Expertise: Proven knowledge of national and EU Customs/Tax regulations, including a deep understanding of customs procedures and regimes and their interpretation.
• Formal Qualification: A relevant Diploma/Degree as a Customs Declarant or equivalent Higher vocational education (HBO) thinking and working level.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong computer skills, including MS Office, and practical experience with customs management systems.
• Professional Experience: A minimum of 3 years of work experience in a customs-related environment, with a strong preference for experience in freight forwarding.
• Declaration Experience: Demonstrated experience in creating import and export declarations for diverse types of goods.
• AEO Knowledge: Practical experience with AEO-C/F license requirements and processes.
• Fiscal Representation: Experience with fiscal representation is a valuable asset.
• Language Skills: Fluent in written and spoken English, with additional languages, particularly Dutch, being a bonus.
