What you'll be doing
  • Prepare and submit accurate customs declarations in line with HMRC regulations and internal procedures.
  • Review customs documentation to ensure completeness before submission.
  • Process CHED and IPAFFS declarations where applicable.
  • Calculate Duty, VAT and pass-through costs, identifying anomalies where appropriate.
  • Ensure customs activities are completed accurately and within agreed service levels.

  • Take ownership of your own learning and development while supporting team knowledge sharing.
What we're looking for

We're looking for someone with previous customs experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced operational environment and has a keen eye for detail.

You'll ideally have
  • Around 12 months or more experience in customs operations or customs administration.
  • Good understanding of customs declarations, customs documentation and customs legislation.
  • Experience using customs systems.
  • Experience with CHED declarations (desirable but not essential).
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Outlook, Excel and Word.

  • While we'll provide full training on Maersk's internal systems, previous customs knowledge is the key requirement for success in this role.
What success looks like:

  • Maintaining full compliance with HMRC legislation and customer requirements.
  • Meeting operational KPIs and service levels.
  • Building strong relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
