Qualifications

The role:

As a Customs Global Governance & Process Lead, you will help drive our goals by:

  • Leading the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of a global Customs governance framework, ensuring effective internal controls, compliance policies, and risk management processes across all jurisdictions.
  • Serving as the subject matter expert for Customs & International Trade (CiT), supporting regional and sector teams in managing risks, maintaining control matrices, handling audits, and ensuring consistent application of customs policies.
  • Supporting strategic projects and change initiatives by providing customs expertise, embedding compliance requirements into systems and processes, and engaging with external advisors to ensure cost-effective delivery.
  • Driving customs-related cost optimisation through duty reduction opportunities, process standardisation, automation, and capability-building across global trade teams.

Key skills that will help you succeed in this role :

  • Relevant professional qualification with at least 5 years of experience in corporate trade compliance, including work with customs data such as classification, valuation, and origin.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills, with the confidence to engage senior leaders and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to assess risks, make practical and commercial recommendations, and drive their implementation effectively.
  • Proactive mindset with a focus on innovation, change leadership, and the ability to prioritise work based on business needs.
