Location: Southampton (hybrid) min 3 days in the office

As our Customs Coordinator,your role will be to execute accurate customs clearance documents to ensure AVASK and our clients remain fully compliant with Customs & Compliance requirements.

Customs Coordinator, the role:

• Prepare & submit accurate customs declarations for both EU, UK, USA, and rest of the world clients.
• Check shipping documents to ensure accuracy such as the origin and commodity codes into CDS.
• Assist with customs declarations in both the UK and the EU.
• Understand and double-check manufacturer & commercial invoices.
• Ensure accuracy with customs declarations with correct freight charges.
• Ensure that clients are up to date with payments to AVASK and chase debt where necessary.
• Manage communications and requests with local & national authorities.
• Conducting internal audits of customs related documents for accuracy and work with colleagues to amend discrepancies & raise knowledge levels.
• Process post clearance amendments systematically when required.
• Liaise with all internal stakeholders such as Compliance in terms of duty and Import VAT paid accuracy and reconciliation.
• Interact and build strong relationships with external stakeholders such as clients, suppliers, and freight managers when additional information may be required.
• Offer a great customer service experience to incoming queries via both email and telephone.

Customs Coordinator, the person:

• A good solid experience in a similar role or related areas.
• Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
• Ability to deal with stakeholders both internally and externally.
• Customer service skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Organised with proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Confident, professional, and friendly with a positive approach.
