Our Customs department offers an exciting opportunity for a Customs Consultant / Business Process Expert to join the team. You will oversee the operation of Customs systems and audit dashboards, working closely with the Customs Team Manager and Tax colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all HMRC / Border Force regulations and support import activities.
• Advise on customs compliance, manage KPI reporting, and develop Customs audit and Excise reporting.
• Handle shipment tracking, customs system issues, and ensure full regulatory compliance.
• Support customs compliance across the team, utilizing expertise in SAP GTS and data analytics tools like MicroStrategy.
• Maintain and develop data interfaces with external stakeholders and brokers.
• Conduct internal audits and prepare reports to improve departmental performance and digital systems.
• Ensure accurate and timely declarations in the Customs CDS system.
• Plan and manage import/export projects and ad hoc events.

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree in International Trade Compliance, MCIEX Grad, or equivalent.
• Advisory and audit experience with HMRC or large consultancies is desirable.
• Strong knowledge of international customs regulations and trade agreements.
• Experience with customs bonded warehousing, excise, and retail import/export operations.
• Technical proficiency in SAP GTS and MicroStrategy tools.
• Experience with SPS controls and BTOM controls is advantageous.
