Customs Clerk - Tilbury - Up to 32,000

Our client, an independent freight forwarder, is looking for a Customs Clearance Specialist to join their growing team in Tilbury, UK.

As a Customs Clearance Specialist, you will be responsible for arranging a variety of import clearances for the company's key clients.

Hours:

Monday to Friday (Apply online only)

Salary:

£32,000

Job Responsibilities

1. Arrange import clearances for key clients, processing promptly to ensure high service levels.
2. Communicate with customers, suppliers, and sub-contractors to obtain and provide information required for customs clearances, ensuring accuracy and compliance within HMRC guidelines.
3. Guide customers on importing goods into the UK, including commodity codes, customs procedures, and general import requirements.
4. Adhere to standards set by being part of an AEO accredited Freight Forwarder.
5. Raise invoices, including Duty/VAT invoices.

Job Specification

1. Proven successful track record of at least two years working for a UK-based freight forwarder.
2. Experience with processing and completing entries using CDS.
3. Experience with CNS and Destin8 systems.
