Customs Clearance Specialist

Location: Tilbury, Essex
Salary: £27,000 – £32,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9.00 am – 5.00 pm
Type: Permanent, Full-time

Noble Recruiting is working with a well-established and growing freight business in Tilbury to recruit an experienced and confident Customs Clearance Specialist.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle import customs clearances across ocean and road freight

• Liaise with customers, suppliers and HMRC for accurate, compliant entries

• Provide guidance on commodity codes and UK import requirements

• Raise Duty and VAT invoices and support clients with cost breakdowns

• Ensure work meets AEO standards

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience with a small to medium freight forwarder

• Proficient in CDS entries, ideally across deep-sea or European road freight

• Solid understanding of UK tariffs, codes, and customs procedures

• Familiar with CNS, Destin8 and Multi-freight (CCS-UK beneficial)

• High attention to detail, strong communication skills

• UK resident with right to work (visa sponsorship not available)
