Overview

Customs Coordinator – Location: Basingstoke, Hampshire. Salary: £30,000 - £34,000 (depending on experience). Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent, Office-Based. Hours: Monday-Thursday 08:00-17:00; Friday 08:00-16:30 (Hybrid: 2 days from home, 3 days in office).

Responsibilities

• Complete Import and Export Customs Declarations accurately and on time
• Provide clear and precise clearance instructions to third-party customs brokers
• Classify materials and products using UK Customs Tariff (I, II, III)
• Manage Customer NOVA and Import VAT/Duty reports
• Quote and process multi-modal international freight bookings
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and internal controls
• Handle all customs clearance-related tasks for consignments

About You

Essential Skills & Experience

• Strong working knowledge of UK and EU customs procedures
• Proficient in customs software such as CDS, ASM Sequoia, AEB, Destin8, and Pentant
• Experience with multi-modal freight (road, air, sea), including Dangerous Goods
• Familiar with quoting and booking international shipments
• Strong IT skills (MS Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
• Commercially astute with the ability to prioritise and adapt in a dynamic environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
