Job Description:

Scope of Position: To ensure the proper and timely clearance and release of consignments, while providing exceptional customer service within the Customs Brokerage department. The role requires excellent oral and written communication skills and a proven track record of delivering outstanding customer service at all levels. Attention to detail is essential. Our environment is team-oriented and fast-paced; therefore, strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills, along with a professional attitude, are crucial.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operations:
  • Ensure customer-specific DLSOP are used with consignments documentation to meet government and customer requirements.
  • Verify documentation compliance and correctness, and retain within our document system.
  • Input customs declaration information into the customs system for timely processing.
  • Track and trace Customs files.
  • Ensure timely customs submission and release for all transport modes to the UK, meeting KPIs.
  • Ensure accurate client billing.
  • Communicate with customs authorities to resolve issues.
  • Act as liaison between customs, government agencies, and customers.
  • Attend customs inspections and present documentation as required.
  • Maintain strong relationships with customs officers and customers.
  • Ensure compliance with all policies and regulations, including internal standards and external government laws.
  • Stay updated on regulatory requirements for import and export, including health, agricultural, police, military, and export controls.
  • Communicate effectively and respond promptly to emails and requests.
  • Escalate problems to management when necessary.
