Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Customs and Inbound Logistics Co-ordinator to join our team at Florette in Lichfield, WS13 8NF. This role is responsible for ensuring that imported and exported goods clear customs correctly and for coordinating this process. The Co-ordinator will also support inbound logistics, beetroot replenishment, and retailer tray management functions. The ideal candidate will have experience with European and UK Customs Clearing, preferably within a food production environment.

Working hours: 5 out of 7 days - 8.30 am to 5:00 pm. The provisional schedule is Tuesday to Saturday during winter and Monday to Friday during summer.

Pay: Competitive salary with annual bonus eligibility.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Ensure compliance with HMRC customs regulations for trade tariffs and border clearance, including Phyto-sanitary clearance through Defra.
  2. Coordinate with group colleagues to serve as the focal point for customs clearing and border transfers.
  3. Utilize software to manage customs clearance processes and support inbound logistics, beetroot replenishment, and retailer trays.
  4. Manage import/export processes by liaising with export clearing agents to ensure adherence to procedures.
  5. Maintain accurate declarations and archiving of all Customs documents.
Skills and Experience Required
  1. A formal qualification in Logistics is preferred but not mandatory.
  2. Completion of relevant customs courses or qualifications.
  3. Experience with European and UK Customs Clearing, ideally in food production.
  4. Strong numeracy and IT skills, with the ability to learn new software confidently.
  5. Proven experience in logistics with commercial awareness.
  6. Understanding of European logistical routes.
