You'll review customer applications to identify risk factors and assess whether we can offer Life, Critical Illness Cover, and Income Protection applications. What You'll Be Doing:

  • Assessing and documenting life and disability risks by reviewing applications and deciding which terms can be offered based on your autonomy level.
  • Leading or participating in projects to enhance underwriting processes and improve systems and commercial viability.
  • Ensuring requests for further information are appropriate, accurate, and do not impact the customer journey unnecessarily.
  • Identifying complaints and ensuring they are addressed promptly, highlighting root causes for compliance.
  • Maintaining accurate daily records to facilitate effective communication and business decisions.
  • Staying informed of legislative and regulatory requirements.
  • Communicating professionally with internal and external customers and third parties, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Understanding service commitments made during marketing and sales to meet customer expectations.

Qualifications

  • Experience in underwriting protection products.
  • Experience in UK medical underwriting (essential).
  • Understanding of mortality, morbidity, and financial underwriting risk factors.
  • Knowledge of protection products and legislation/regulatory requirements (preferable).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
