Job summary

A.F. Blakemore & Son Ltd's SPAR Grantham store is looking for a Customer Team Member (18+) to join on a 16-hour per week rota.

You will support the store management and ensure a positive customer experience by delivering great service across shifts from early mornings to evenings on weekdays. In this role you will greet customers, help them find products, process transactions, and contribute to stock checks and merchandising.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in customer service preferred.
• Reliable with attention to detail.
• Cash handling experience preferred.
• Able to work on a rota and weekends.

Customer Team Member (18+) SPAR Grantham

16 hours

Various Shifts on a rota basis

Mon - Fri 6am-10pm

More hours available for sick and holiday cover

We have an exciting opportunity for a SPAR Customer Team Member. As a Customer Team Member at SPAR Grantham, you will play a vital role in supporting our store management team and creating a positive customer experience. You will assist in maximising sales and profit by carrying out allocated tasks in order to contribute to the continuous improvement of the store, ensuring great customer service, through ‘Brilliant Basics, Moments of Wow, Food for later and Food for now!’

Key Tasks/Responsibilities:

Customer Service:

• Greeting customers in a friendly and welcoming manner.
• Answering customer inquiries about products and services and assisting customers in finding the items they need.
• Processing customer purchases efficiently and accurately through the tills, maintaining a positive and friendly service
• Upselling selected products to customers and highlighting multi-buy offers, to ensure maximum sales at our Grantham SPAR store
  Store Operations:
• Working stock; checking deliveries, stocking shelves, maintaining a clean and organised sales floor, rotating stock to ensure freshness and timely expiration dates.
• Completing additional assigned tasks, such as date checking, stock and gap checking, price changes, promotional displays and other tasks as required from time to time.
• Adhering to all company policies and procedures and processes.

Key Skills/Knowledge:

• Previous experience in a similar role and/or industry is preferred
• Reliably follows instructions and procedures with excellent attention to detail
• Some understanding of legislative responsibilities of a retail environment and the skills to assist with adherence
• Ability to contribute ideas for delivering exceptional customer service and driving the business forward
• Experience of using a ‘Challenge 25’ policy desirable
• Keen and enthusiastic approach to working both in a team and independently
• Previous cash handling experience is preferred but not essential
