Job summary

Co-op is seeking a Customer Team Leader for Canvey Island to lead store shifts, guide the team, and ensure smooth daily operations. The role is part-time (20 hours per week) with regular overtime, on a six-month temporary contract, and requires flexibility for early mornings, afternoons, late evenings, and at least one weekend shift.

You will drive customer service, merchandising, stock accuracy, and HR processes while championing Co-op membership and community engagement.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail, merchandising, or team management (experience not essential)
• The ability to work flexibly and lead by example

Responsibilities

• Own the day-to-day running of the store by leading the team on your shift
• Motivate, coach, and support your team to deliver great service and efficient operations
• Work hands-on on the shop floor and tills, supporting daily operations and setting the pace for a team of Customer Team Members
• Support store performance through merchandising, stock accuracy, and HR processes
• Champion Co-op through community engagement and membership growth

Location: Canvey Road , Canvey Island, SS8 0QA

Pay: £14.48 per hour

Contract: 20 hours per week + regular overtime, 6 month temporary contract, part time

Working pattern: varied shifts including early mornings (store opening 6:45am), afternoons, late evenings (store closing 11pm) including at least 1 weekend shift, to be discussed at interview
