Job DescriptionSalary: $19.83 - $23.80 hourly

Location: Remote in Massachusetts

CET is looking for a Customer Support Specialist (internally called a Program Consultant) for our energy efficiency programs. In this entry-level role, you will provide expertise, planning, and assistance to customers aiming to reduce costs and improve environmental performance. As a Customer Support Specialist, you will excel at communication, establishing rapport with customers, clients, business owners, vendors, and coworkers via phone, email, and meetings.

The ideal candidate has familiarity with energy efficiency programs and/or experience with income-based programs for homeowners and renters. The role involves working independently and collaboratively with other team members to complete deliverables, drive existing programs, and onboard new ones.

For nearly 50 years, CET has helped people and businesses save energy and reduce waste. We partner with city and state agencies, utilities, homeowners, and business owners across the U.S. to promote a just and equitable transition to a low-carbon economy. With evolving climate policies, utility programs are adapting to meet carbon reduction goals. Our Customer Support Specialists are key in helping customers navigate incentive programs and implement electrification and energy measures. This is an exciting time to join CET as a Customer Support Specialist!

In this role, you will:

  • Provide energy efficiency program information and assist property owners with program options.
  • Schedule site visits and respond to hotline inquiries.
  • Support virtual and in-person events, including logistics and registration.
  • Accurately enter project data into relevant platforms to track interactions and progress.
  • Generate client reports and compile metrics related to program deliverables.
  • Act as a liaison with vendors, partners, customers, and stakeholders.
  • Suggest improvements to processes and collaborate on new initiatives.
  • Potentially provide coaching to team members for quality assurance.
  • Contribute to training new staff members.
  • Collaborate internally and externally to advance projects.

You are a great fit if you have:

  • Enthusiasm for CET's mission.
  • A college degree and 1-2 years of customer service and written communication experience, or similar experience with phone and email support.
  • 1-2 years of experience in non-profit, environmental/sustainability, or energy efficiency sectors.
  • Fluency in Spanish is highly preferred.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Office and Salesforce.
  • Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to manage multiple programs and deliverables collaboratively.
  • Experience with energy efficiency incentive programs or income-based programs is a plus.
  • High-speed internet and a distraction-free workspace for remote work.
