Job Description: Customer Account Executive
Location: Belfast City Centre
Department: Customer Success
Overview
MCS are delighted to partner with a leading organisation is seeking an enthusiastic Customer Account Specialist to join their expanding team. This position plays a pivotal role in managing key customer accounts, fostering long-term partnerships, and driving the growth of the business through proactive account development and opportunity identification.
Key Responsibilities
Account Management:

  • Oversee a portfolio of customer relationships, acting as a trusted partner who understands their priorities and goals.
  • Lead contract negotiations and secure new agreements that support shared success.

Business Development:

  • Represent the organisation at client meetings, sector events, and trade exhibitions (with some travel across the UK).
  • Coordinate the onboarding process for new customers, working closely with internal departments to ensure a smooth transition.

Customer Support:

  • Deliver high-quality product support, collaborating with internal teams to address and resolve customer issues promptly.
  • Track business activities, providing detailed reports and updates to clients and senior management.

Market Insight:

  • Build in-depth knowledge of industry trends, customer challenges, and market dynamics to anticipate needs and identify growth opportunities.
  • Partner with engineering and product teams to introduce new initiatives that meet customer requirements.

Team Contribution:

  • Share expertise with colleagues and mentor junior team members as needed.


Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Degree in business, IT, or a related discipline (2:1 or equivalent), or substantial experience in a relevant field.
  • At least 1 year in a customer-facing or account management role, ideally within technology, consultancy, insurance, finance, or utilities.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple B2B relationships in a results-driven setting.
  • Strong analytical skills and confident use of MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage clients virtually and in person.
  • Self-motivated with a proven capacity for independent learning.

Desirable Attributes

  • Background in IT, e-commerce, fintech, or financial services.
  • Basic understanding of web or software development concepts.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms or Google Analytics.
  • Strong academic results (three A-Levels at grade B or above preferred).
