VANRATH are delighted to be assisting our client, a large local authority with the recruitment of a Customer Services Officer to join their team based in Newtownabbey.

This is a Part-Time position. 22.2 hours a week.

Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 9-5.

Salary: £14.84 per hour, plus benefits.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional customer service, addressing queries and complaints professionally across all communication channels.
  • Continuously develop knowledge and skills to enhance service quality.
  • Handle service requests efficiently and confidentially, in line with the organisation's customer service policies.
  • Process customer payments, maintain accurate records, and perform financial reconciliations.
  • Operate telephone systems and update CRM records as needed.
  • Ensure the reception area is well-maintained and stocked with relevant materials.
  • Assist customers with completing service-related forms and promote self-service options.
  • Provide information on events, exhibitions, and external agencies to support customers.
  • Support internal teams with customer service training, feedback, and performance reporting.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations of services and events.
  • Work collaboratively within the team to meet service objectives.
  • Be available to work flexible hours when required.

The Ideal Person:

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs (Grades A-C) or equivalent, including English and Maths, or 2 years' relevant experience.
  • At least one year in a customer service role, including reception duties, cash handling, and dealing with customer queries via phone, email, or live chat.
  • Problem-solving ability, flexible and adaptable to change, and handling sensitive information discreetly.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
  • Access to transport for work-related duties.
