Job description

Role: Customer Services Officer - Temporary - Belfast
Job Overview
VANRATH
are assisting our client, a large Public Sector organisation, in their search for a Customer Services Officer for 3 months initially with the possibility of extension. The Customer Services Officer will provide comprehensive operational and administrative support to assist in the development and delivery of key areas within housing-related customer services.

  • Salary: £16.37/hour
  • 37 hours per week
  • Belfast city centre office

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service by taking ownership of queries, seeing them through to resolution, and escalating when necessary.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, partners, and external contacts.
  • Represent the organisation positively, helping to maintain a strong and professional public image.
  • Work in line with all organisational policies and procedures, including those related to equality, health and safety, and data protection.
  • Support colleagues by directing them to the correct resources or contacts for matters beyond the scope of your role.
  • Take part in project work as assigned, using sound project management principles to deliver tasks effectively.
  • Support recruitment and resourcing activity as required, in line with organisational guidelines.
  • Carry out other reasonable duties as needed to support the organisation's goals and evolving priorities.

Essential Criteria:

  • Hold a degree-level qualification with at least 1 year of relevant experience,
    OR
    Demonstrate equivalent professional development or experiential learning with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Proven experience in:
    • Effective written and verbal communication, including coordinating communications and negotiation skills.
    • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to achieve shared objectives.
  • Hold a current driving licence or have access to suitable transport to meet the role's requirements.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience analysing and interpreting data to improve service delivery.
  • Experience in housing management functions.
  • Possession of a recognised professional housing qualification.
