Job summary

Tesco is hiring for store roles across the UK. The Colleague role offers a starting pay of £13.28 per hour, rising to £14.55 in M25 stores, with a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours per week and options to work as few as 12 hours.

Responsibilities include serving customers with pride, understanding products, and upholding safety and store policies. Flexibility, inclusivity, and opportunities for progression are emphasized.

Responsibilities

• Knowing your customers and serving them with passion and pride; giving great natural service.
• Passionate and knowledgeable about the products and services within my store.
• Putting training into practice, so we all work safely, effectively and serve customers brilliantly.
• Dealing with customer complaints and feedback professionally, always sending customers home happy.
• Accurately recording customer details and treating information confidentially.
• Carrying out safe and legal checks on the desk you are trained for, reporting next steps to the Shift Leader/Team Manager.
• Recording and disposing of waste in a responsible manner, including following food waste and recycling routines.
• Accurately recording and processing returned items from customers.
• Signing in visitors, ensuring they are aware of health, safety and fire procedures.
• Controlling keys stored at the desk correctly.
• Liaising with Shift Leaders, Managers and Security, communicating clearly.
• Taking part in seasonal, community and charity events, creating a great inclusive atmosphere.
• Working across the store in service, picking and replenishment areas where required.
• Handling products with care to maintain quality and ensure they reach customers in the best condition.
• Being yourself, living our values, making everyone feel welcome and always following our policies.
