Job summary

Moore’s Fish & Chips in Castle Douglas is seeking a friendly Counter Assistant to greet customers, take orders, handle payments and serve food. You’ll be the face of the business, helping to create a welcoming atmosphere for every customer served.

Hours are approximately 16–20 hours per week, including evenings and weekends, with full training provided and opportunities to progress within the team.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Positive, can-do attitude with good communication.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliable, punctual and flexible with shifts.
• Previous experience is helpful but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers with a friendly smile and create a welcoming atmosphere.
• Take orders accurately and handle cash/card payments.
• Serve food and drinks efficiently and keep the counter tidy.
• Assist with basic food prep when required.
• Work as part of a busy team during peak periods.
