Your company

Working for an engineering organisation located in Burton Upon Trent. This is a full-time, office-based position.

Your new role

You will act as the single point of contact for internal and external customers via telephone & email, as well as processing orders and providing general contract administration support. You will support engineers and ensure the smooth running of their projects.

Duties will include:

  1. Develop professional relationships with internal and external customers and provide high levels of customer service at all times
  2. Handle equipment hire and sales enquiries via telephone and/or email from internal (Sales team) and external customers
  3. Arrange on and off hire of equipment as requested by customers
  4. Check availability of equipment within stockholding and/or supply chain
  5. Check availability of transport to meet delivery and collection requirements and propose alternatives if necessary
  6. Provide ‘single point of contact’ support for communications and enquiries (telephone/email)
  7. Process hire & sales orders throughout the project lifecycle, from initial order to final return, closing, and filing
  8. Support contract administration for the hire and sale of equipment to the construction industry
  9. Process orders through the company’s computer system
  10. Manage off hire instructions and equipment returns through the system
  11. Ensure all project documentation is completed promptly and accurately
  12. Resolve customer queries professionally
  13. Promote the company proactively
  14. Perform general administrative tasks such as handling post, filing, purchasing, etc.
  15. Undertake office reception duties as required
  16. Manage telephone switchboard duties as required

This is a full-time, office-based position.

What you'll need to succeed

Ideally, you have experience in construction, hire, builders merchant, or similar customer service roles, with proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel). You should be willing to learn and succeed.

You should be an effective communicator, able to use critical thinking, adapt to situations, anticipate customer needs, and provide high-quality service.
