Job description

Customer Service Co-ordinator - MPAN Management

Crawley 30,816 + 7.5% bonus Blended working after probation Close date: 13/09/2026

Attention

Are you a customer-focused professional who enjoys solving problems, guiding people through important processes, and delivering excellent service in a regulated environment? UK Power Networks is looking for a Customer Service Co-ordinator to join the MPAN Management Team within Finance, supporting customers and electricity suppliers with requests for new Meter Point Administration Numbers.

Interest

In this role, you will help business and domestic customers obtain the metering points they need, including support for low carbon technology on the electricity network. Following comprehensive training, you will assess Import and Export MPAN requests, liaise with customers and suppliers, and ensure the right outcomes are reached in line with industry and company guidelines.

You will take ownership of customer relationships, provide clear guidance to customers who may be unfamiliar with the process, create and issue MPANs where appropriate, and work closely with internal teams to identify unsafe, dangerous or illegal connections. You will also help ensure MPANs are correctly addressed and recorded as unique identifiers for metering points.

Desire
  • Salary of 30,816 plus 7.5% bonus
  • Blended working after probation: 3 days in the office and 2 days remote
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Personal pension plan with UK Power Networks contributions of 8% or 10%
  • Reservist leave, tenancy loan deposit scheme and season ticket loan
  • Cycle to Work, Home & Tech and Green Car Leasing schemes
  • Occupational Health support, Employee Assistance Programme, discounted gym membership and retail discounts

This is a great opportunity to join the UK's best performing Distribution Network Operator, develop specialist knowledge within MPAN management, and play a key part in supporting customers, suppliers and the wider energy industry.

About you
  • GCSE pass in English and a numerate subject such as mathematics or engineering
  • Experience in a customer service, engineering or similar environment
  • Strong customer relationship management and negotiation skills
  • A proven commitment to high-quality customer service
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues, find resolutions and support continuous improvement
  • Awareness of confidentiality and GDPR
  • Knowledge of Connections, Competition in Connections, UK Power Networks' geographic area, or electrical installations would be beneficial, but a willingness to learn is equally valuable
