Hrstalentsolutions seeks a detail-oriented Order Change Request Logger to handle remote customer messages related to order changes. You will link requests to orders, explain next steps, and help route inquiries to the appropriate teams from a home office.
The role emphasizes accurate recording, timely updates, and clear communication to ensure the correct status is reflected in the system. Remote work is available with flexible hours.
Customer Service · Order Support · Remote · Full-time or part-time
Pay: £29.50–£31.50 an hour
An order change may seem small to the person requesting it, but it can affect a payment, a delivery instruction or work already under way. The Order Change Request Logger makes sure the request is captured accurately and reaches the person who can decide what is possible.
You would read incoming online or email messages, link each request to the correct order and explain the next step using approved information. This is written customer service with a focused administrative purpose, carried out remotely.
The distinction between request received and change approved is central to this role. You may be authorised to record a request or correct a simple contact detail. You would not promise a revised item, price or delivery date before the responsible team confirms it. If a customer asks whether a change can still be made, you can acknowledge the question and pass along the order’s current status. A clear note allows the decision-maker to assess the request without making the customer repeat it.
Messages might ask to change a quantity, update a delivery instruction, correct a recipient name or cancel an item. Some contain an order number; others need one requested. You would identify the affected order and the precise change sought, compare the message with the existing record, and note any deadline or concern the customer mentioned. You would use the employer’s instructions to route payment, product and fulfilment questions appropriately. If a request is withdrawn or amended in a later message, the log must reflect the current request rather than leaving an older instruction as though it still applied.
This work can include a straightforward acknowledgement that tells the customer their request has been received and is being checked. That message should be honest about the stage. Once the relevant colleague responds, you may send an approved update or record that the decision has been communicated. You should not transform a colleague’s tentative internal note into a final commitment. The useful work product is a traceable request with the correct order, current status and clear communication.
A useful handoff contains three things:
That keeps the decision with the colleague authorised to make it while reducing the need to ask the customer to repeat the request.
Practical actions include:
You will work with an online order system, a message queue and a simple record of actions. The employer will teach the systems and where your authority ends. Previous order processing or office administration experience would be helpful but is not required. Newcomers can learn the workflow if they are comfortable reading closely, recording a request in plain language and asking a sensible follow-up question. Work in retail, hospitality or another customer-facing setting can be transferable.
A calm tone matters when someone is disappointed that a change may no longer be possible. You can be helpful without making a promise that belongs to another team. The position also calls for reliable time management: pending messages should remain visible while decisions are sought. A suitable home office area may make it easier to focus on the difference between the original order and the requested revision.
The role is remote, with a full-time or part-time arrangement possible. Pay is £29.50–£31.50 per hour. The hiring company will explain its specific order-change procedure and working pattern during selection.
