Job description

A Customer Service Assistant based in one of our busy trade centres is an integral role of day-to-day branch operations. This role will involve a large element of customer engagement through phone calls, emails and face to face interaction ensuring our customers need are met in an efficient and personable manner. Taking pride in delivering what we promise, the role ensures the trade centre is a well presented place ensuring the availability of our full suite of stock to enable us to deliver our customer promise. At the trade counter you will be ensuring both our account and cash sales customers have everything they need to complete their job.

Responsibilities
  • Identify and generate sales opportunities by ensuring the customer has all they need for their job.
  • Efficiently processing customer transactions.
  • Provide competitive quotations to meet both customer and business needs.
  • Ensuring a high standard of good housekeeping and presentation throughout the store.
  • Making sure all goods inwards are checked and put away in the correct location. Maintain adequate branch stock levels and count accurately for/during stocktake.
  • Adhering to Health & Safety protocols for self and others whilst on site.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Proven experience within a face to face sales and customer service based role.
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills in order to be a real team player.
  • Proficient in the use of IT and have good computer literacy and telephone skills.
  • Web sales, ‘E’ commerce and social media experience.
  • Ideally knowledge / experience of the construction / building materials industry.
