Paragon provides a client-centric traffic management service with strong sector experience. The team has grown to over 60 members, with 2 depots and head offices in North Lincolnshire. They are now recruiting a customer service/administrative apprentice to work with the Design and Surveying Manager.

Wage

£13,741 for the first year, with potential increases depending on age. This is aligned with the National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices.

Most of your apprenticeship will be spent working, gaining hands-on experience and learning on the job.

What you'll do at work
  • Create and amend detailed AutoCAD Traffic Management Plans
  • Communicate verbally and in writing with internal and external customers
  • Create drawings in line with Chapter 8 Legislation
  • Use Google Maps and Google Earth for layout references
  • Communicate survey information supplied by project coordinators
  • Work within the time frames set by your line manager
  • Manufacture special legend signs and advance warnings as required
  • Complete and submit TM plans within 24 hours of initial enquiry, working with the Design & Surveying Manager
  • Assist the Design & Surveying Manager when needed
  • Help with site photo checking where applicable

Training

The apprenticeship includes time away for specialist training, enabling you to gain professional knowledge and skills.

  • Develop questioning skills, including listening and responding to build rapport and understand customer needs
  • Use appropriate verbal and non-verbal communication, including summarising during face-to-face interactions
  • Use effective communication and reinforcement techniques during non-facing customer interactions
  • Maintain an appropriate tone of voice in all communications reflecting the organisation’s brand
  • Provide clear explanations and options to help customers make informed decisions
  • Organise and prioritise workload to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrate patience and calmness
  • Understand customer perspectives
  • Use sign-posting or resolution techniques to meet customer needs and manage expectations
Your training plan
  • Functional skills in maths and English (if required)
  • End-Point Assessment (EPA)
  • One-to-one tutor assessor support in the workplace
  • Weekly classes covering health and safety, equality and diversity, and working towards EPA completion
