Job description

Marywell, Aberdeen

Who We Are

We are the backbone of transport construction, supplying the essential building materials that bring everything from mini-roundabouts to motorways and railways to life. With over 40 Keyline branches across the UK, we combine expert knowledge with outstanding service, ensuring our customers receive the right products at the right time.

As a Customer Sales Expert, you will be the face of our business to our customers, delivering exceptional service each day. You will work closely with our External Account Manager to understand customer needs and tailor solutions accordingly.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Proactively utilise our CRM and Sales Hub systems to identify and capture potential leads, making outbound sales calls to build relationships and uncover customer needs.
  • Manage customer enquiries from initial contact to invoice, ensuring the correct products or materials are offered, including recommending alternatives where necessary to maximise profitability.
  • Exceed personal sales targets by managing discounts and margins on existing customer accounts, while actively driving new business opportunities.
  • Negotiate and foster relationships with key suppliers and their representatives.
  • Be the primary point of contact for customer queries, handling all requests for information efficiently and professionally.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products and materials, including their uses, sizes, and quantities, while staying informed of price movements, stock availability, and special offers.
  • Drive your own professional development through ongoing training and learning from others.
  • Ensure all cash and credit sales procedures are followed correctly, with all required documentation completed accurately and in line with company policies.
  • Assist with stock-taking as required.

Who You Are

This is a key customer-facing role, so you’ll need to be enthusiastic, with excellent communication skills (both written and verbal). In addition, we’re looking for someone who:

  • A background in internal sales so you can identify, understand, and respond effectively to customer needs.
  • Is eager to progress and develop new skills.
  • Can work independently, using your initiative.
  • A positive attitude and a true team player
  • Has some product knowledge around construction materials or transport infrastructure (desirable, but not essential).
  • Is highly organised with the ability to plan and prioritise effectively.
  • Has good IT skills and strong numerical aptitude.

What’s In It for You?

By joining our team, you’ll be part of a leading industry force, with plenty of opportunities for career development and growth. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of transport infrastructure, all while working in a supportive and dynamic environment.

In addition to a fulfilling career, we offer the following benefits:

  • Competitive annual salary
  • Performance-based bonus to reward your hard work
  • Save-as-you-earn & Buy-as-you-earn schemes for smart financial growth
  • Generous contributory pension scheme for long-term security
  • Exclusive colleague discounts across a range of Group businesses, including 20% off at Toolstation
  • Wellbeing support to help you feel your best
  • MyPerks discounts at top retailers, restaurants, and more!
  • Standard working hours Monday to Friday—no weekends or bank holidays required.
  • We’re happy to discuss the possibility of flexible working arrangements, including reduced hours, flexible start and finish times, compressed hours, part-time or job sharing. We encourage an open conversation during your interview, and while we may not be able to accommodate every request, we promise to listen and consider your needs.
