Job summary

GWR is seeking Customer Sales Advisors in Gloucester to confidently sell the full range of tickets and services while delivering exceptional customer service at the station.

As a member of the team, you will ensure safety, assist customers, and support station operations with training provided. Weekend shifts are included in a dynamic, customer-focused environment.

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join us asCustomer Sales Advisors, where you'll confidently and impartially sell a wide range of tickets and services while exceeding customer expectations.

About the job:

As an S9 based in Gloucester, you will have amultifunctional role. You will confidently and impartially sell the full range of tickets and services, ensuring that customer requirements are met and exceeded, you will ensure that station activities including cleaning and customer assistance are completed safely and punctually and providekey information across the station.

Your main responsibilities will be:
  • Providing the highest level of customer service and being dedicated to customer needs
  • Accurately and impartially selling the full range of products and services to our customers in a friendly, professional and efficient manner
  • Maximising opportunities for increased sales at ticket offices by adopting selling techniques and offering enhanced products to customers
  • Carrying out routine maintenance and cleaning of ticket machines and IT equipment
  • Accurately completing all accountancy and other associated documentation
  • Providing information and assistance to customers
  • Ensuring the safety of customers, staff, visitors and contractors is given the highest priority
  • Maintaining a safe, pleasant and clean station environment, including cleaning.
You'll need to be:
  • Able to deliver extraordinary front line customer service
  • Able to understand customer requirements and expectations
  • A self-starter with a can do attitude
  • Confident when decision-making
  • Calm yet directive in a crisis
  • Able to work to strict procedures
As a minimum you'll need to have:
  • The ability to work as part of a team and independently
  • Evidence of numerical ability
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • An ability to multitask well
Shift Pattern:

Shifts between 05:00 – 19:15 working across all days, including weekends & bank holidays

Due to the nature of the shifts work involved in these roles, applicants must be 18 years of age or older to apply.

What to Expect?
  • After submitting your application, you'll complete an online Situational Judgement Test (recommended on a laptop/computer).
  • Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a competency-based interview.
  • Successful applicants will need to pass a medical assessment, including a drug and alcohol screening, as well as a Basic DBS check.
  • Full training will be provided, including a 3-week training programme in Swindon.
