Do you have a background in customer service? We are looking to recruit a Customer Operations Agent in our Freight booking office in Hull on an 18-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave.

Job Overview

P&O Ferries is recruiting a Customer Operations Agent based in Hull on an 18-month fixed-term contract.

In this role, you will be responsible for processing unaccompanied and driver-accompanied eastbound and westbound bookings, managing associated administration duties for all North Sea and Thames route services, and contributing to the day-to-day customer service functions within the department. Please note that this role involves shift work.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Deal with customer inquiries related to customer units being loaded or unloaded from P&O vessels operating on the North Sea and Thames services.
  2. Ensure the accuracy of customer freight bookings when inputting into all systems.
  3. Accept written bookings from both account and non-account customers, either on the day of sailing or in advance, using company reservation systems.
  4. Contact customers via phone or email to obtain bookings for units received at the port without a pre-booking.
Key Skills
  1. Good interpersonal skills.
  2. Strong customer service and excellent communication skills.
  3. IT literacy.
  4. Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential.
