Overview Of Role

As a key member of our team, you will manage a range of direct and indirect customers, with the primary focus of growing our business through increased distribution and rates of sale of our brands. You will be responsible for achieving volume and financial targets and generating new business as part of our end-to-end sales strategy. Your role is to build influential relationships with customers to maximise range, visibility and promotional implementation for our existing products as well as driving listings of new products (sometimes in new markets). You will work in collaboration with the Senior Customer Manager and other Customer Managers to drive overall sales in this channel.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develops and implements sales plans based on market insights and customer needs.
  • Ensures Plans are focussed on winning new distribution/share/volume/space against competitors.
  • Delivers aligned activities with broader Commercial Team.
  • Visits Customers on agreed regular call cycle.
  • Completes contact reports for every call.
  • Ensures `steps in call/perfect call` process is used for every call.
  • Inputs into the forecasting process in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Ensures own campaigns are activated to agreed standards.
  • Ability to seek and secure new business opportunities
  • Reports on own performance.
  • Implements annual Account Plans for top customers.
  • Manages customer orders through D365/CS.
  • Ensures all customer actions and agreements are completed.
  • Engages and supports internal stakeholders to ensure aligned ways of working.

The Right Person

To succeed in this role, you must have a proven selling instinct and demonstrable sales experience within the FMCG or East Asian channel, as well as excellent communication and organisational skills. Ideally, your background will be in this market, with experience of influencing a wide range of customers being very desirable. Alongside your ability to match your personal influence and ability to build winning relationships across your customer base, you will also have a track record of “making things happen” and delivering new business opportunities in your career to date. A clean full UK driving license is a key requirement.
