Job description

About us:

Trooli is an independent, ultra-fast fibre Broadband network delivering Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) within the UK. Our mission is to bring the most advanced broadband connections to as many homes and businesses as possible.

The role:

The Customer Installation Engineer will support our customers through the journey to receiving our fibre broadband, providing a five-star installation service from start to finish. Responsibilities include installing our FTTP network, troubleshooting, supporting customers to ensure they are fully connected, and offering an excellent overall experience. The role primarily involves working within a customer installation team, but may also require cabling work on our core distribution network.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provision of FTTP Broadband services in both residential and business premises.
  2. Installation and splicing of fibre cabling, both underground and overhead.
  3. Deployment and commissioning of customer premises equipment, including ONT and router.
  4. Deliver professional and concise customer handover.
  5. Self-audit all works to ensure compliance with technical and operational quality standards.
  6. Work efficiently and tidily, maintaining a clean environment at all times.
  7. Respond effectively to all customer requests and enquiries.
  8. Complete work within agreed time scales.
  9. Comply with Health & Safety standards.
  10. Ensure all work activities comply with environmental regulations.
  11. Use plant and tools safely, meeting equipment operation requirements.
  12. Comply with company Transport Policy.
  13. Conduct daily checks of plant and tools, ensuring safety and valid calibration certificates where applicable.

Your experience:

The successful candidate will have over 3 years of high-quality cabling experience in BT Openreach ducts and infrastructure, both overhead and underground, with excellent references. Additional requirements include:

  • Experience in a customer-facing environment with a strong focus on customer service.
  • Ability to problem-solve calmly.
  • Confidence working at height.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with customers, stakeholders, and management.
  • Highly organized, capable of managing multiple projects without impacting service quality.
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Exposure to the OR network (PIA).

Essential qualifications:

  • GCSEs or equivalent, including minimum grades in math and English.
  • Full clean driving license.
  • SA001/SA002 accreditations (valid).
  • NSRWA Unit 2 Signage, guarding, and light.

Desirable but not essential qualifications:

  • IPAF MEWP Mobile Boom B3.
  • Knowledge of BT Openreach standards and processes for underground safety, working at height, and confined spaces.
  • Current qualification to work on BT Network or equivalent.

DBS Checks:

The company conducts DBS checks as part of its recruitment process and during employment to ensure safety. This role requires a basic DBS check, considering only unspent convictions under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Applicants will be asked to declare any unspent convictions, which will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
