Job Description:

With roots in Southeast England, we're deeply committed to our local community. Yet, our vision extends far beyond. Our ever-growing state-of-the-art fibre network covers a wide area, and we are passionate about connecting people and businesses across many more regions. We want to provide high-quality, affordable services along with educational information that is honest, and easy to understand.

But Trooli isn't just about speed; it's about reliability too! We aim to deliver high quality broadband that never disappoints and works when it is needed, every single time.

We're excited about the future, and we invite you to be part of it with us!

About us:

Trooli is an independent, ultra-fast fibre Broadband network delivering Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) within the UK. Our Mission is to bring the most advanced broadband connections to as many homes and businesses as soon as possible.

The role:

The Customer Installation Engineer will be responsible for supporting our customers through the journey to receiving our fibre broadband, providing a five-star installation service from start to finish. Installing our FTTP network, troubleshooting, supporting customers to ensure they are fully connected, and offering an excellent overall experience are all key to the role. We are striving to go over and above for all of our customers! The role is principally working within a customer installation team. However, you may be required to carry out cabling work on our core distribution network.

Responsibilities:

  • Provision of FTTP Broadband services in both residential and business premises
  • Installation and splicing of fibre cabling both underground and overhead
  • Deployment and commissioning of customer premises equipment including ONT and router
  • Deliver professional and concise customer handover
  • Self-audit all works and ensure it meets all applicable technical and operational quality standards
  • Work efficiently and tidily, maintaining a clean environment at all times
  • Respond effectively and appropriately to all customer requests and enquiries
  • Complete work to agreed time scales
  • Comply with Health & Safety standards
  • Ensure that all work activities comply with environmental regulations
  • Ensure the use of plant and tools are conducted in a safe manner, meeting the requirements for operation of the specific equipment
  • Comply with company Transport Policy
  • Conduct daily checks of plant and tools, ensure they are safe to use and where applicable carry valid calibration certificates

Your experience:

The successful applicant will have a proven track record of high-quality cabling work and excellent references, with at least 3 years’ experience of cabling in BT Openreach ducts and infrastructure - both overhead and underground.

  • Experience working within a customer-facing environment
  • A strong focus on customer service
  • The ability to problem-solve calmly
  • Confidence working at height
  • Strong communication skills, able to communicate effectively with customers, stakeholders, and management
  • A highly organized approach, able to work on multiple projects, installations, and repairs without impact on service quality
  • Previous experience in similar roles
  • Exposure to the OR network (PIA)
  • Educated to GCSE or equivalent, minimum grade in math and English
  • Full clean driving license
  • SA001/SA002 accreditations - in date
  • NSRWA Unit 2 Signage, guarding and light

Desirable qualifications (not essential):

  • Knowledge and experience of working to BT Openreach standards and processes for underground safety, working at height, and confined spaces
  • Current qualification to work on BT Network or equivalent

The Company is committed to ensuring the wellbeing of our customers. DBS checks will be undertaken as part of the recruitment process and during employment to protect our employees and customers. This role requires a basic DBS check. Only unspent convictions will be considered, and each case will be evaluated on its merits. Applicants must declare any unspent convictions during the application process.
