GAP Hire Solutions is seeking a proactive Customer Hire Controller to join a busy team supporting the Kier account. You will process on- and off-hire requests, raise POs and contracts, and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of plant and equipment.

Ideal candidates have experience in hire desks or administration, strong organisational skills, and a customer-focused approach in a fast-paced environment.

• Previous experience in Hire Desk, Plant Hire, Customer Service or Administration is desirable.
• Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional telephone manner.
• Ability to prioritise workload, work independently and as part of a team.
• Good IT skills and ability to learn internal systems.

Are you an organised and customer-focused individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same? At GAP Hire Solutions, we're looking for a proactive Customer Hire Controller to join our busy and growing team supporting the Kier account. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys coordinating hire requirements, has a strong eye for detail, and takes pride in delivering excellent customer service. In this role, you'll be at the centre of the hire operation, managing customer enquiries and requests while ensuring efficient, accurate administration.

What you'll be doing

You'll process customer on- and off-hire requests accurately and efficiently in line with company procedures. You will raise purchase orders and hire contracts using internal systems, liaising with suppliers and customer sites to arrange the supply of plant and equipment. A key part of the role will involve monitoring deliveries, resolving issues and escalating where necessary. You'll ensure that all supplier paperwork relating to hires is accurate and complete, while building and maintaining strong working relationships with suppliers, customer sites and internal teams. You'll also manage multiple priorities and work within agreed deadlines in a busy, fast-paced environment.

About you

• Previous experience in a Hire Desk, Plant Hire, Customer Service or Administration role is desirable.
• Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a confident and professional telephone manner.
• The ability to prioritise your workload, work independently and contribute as part of a team.
• Good IT skills, with the ability to learn and use internal systems proficiently.
• A positive, enthusiastic and adaptable approach to work.
• Plant hire or construction industry knowledge is advantageous but not essential.
• A flexible approach and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
