Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Lead Sales Associate in Lewes to help maintain a clean, well-organized store with a customer-first focus. You will assist customers in locating and purchasing merchandise, operate a cash register, stock and recover merchandise, and perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Strong understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow planograms and merchandise presentation guides.
• Solid math skills for end-of-day cash handling and percentages.
• Experience operating a cash register and scanner.
• Knowledge of cash handling policies including deposits and cashier accountability.
• Experience driving to the bank for deposits or related tasks.
• Six months of supervisory experience or related training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers.
• Operate cash register and scanner to itemize and total purchases; collect payment and bag merchandise.
• Stock, restock, and rotate merchandise; set up displays and unpack goods.
• Keep the store clean; manage trash, dust, mop floors, clean restrooms and stockroom.
• Assist in planogram implementation and maintenance.
• Open and close the store under direction of Store Manager.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Store Manager in their absence.
