Job summary

Modal is seeking engineers with deep AI/ML and low-level systems experience to build the best technical support experience. You will split time ~50/50 between customer interaction and shipping fixes, features, and automation that improve Modal for all users.

In this role you will work on deeply technical problems at the frontier of customer experience, contributing production code and shaping the roadmap through real-world feedback.

Qualifications

• Deep depth in either low-level infrastructure or ML/AI, not a split

Responsibilities

• Ship code that matters and fix issues, enabling all Modal users
• Work directly with customers to debug, optimize, and design workloads across contact channels
• Build scalable tooling, dashboards, and automation for support at scale
• Close the feedback loop by turning field patterns into concrete improvements
• Contribute to open source and technical content for broader community
