About British Cycling

British Cycling exists to bring the joy of cycling to everyone.

We have embarked on an exciting new journey, with a modernised commercial and events offering grounded in social impact and storytelling, harnessing the spotlight and inspiration of our athlete’s performance on the world stage, and our growing portfolio of major events.

We are working towards our three key priorities outlined in our strategy; to support and grow the sport to make cycling more inclusive and accessible, to lead on the world stage by winning and winning well, and to drive social impact by tackling inequalities through providing opportunities.

About The Role

We are recruiting a fixed term, full time Customer Engagement and Content Officer. As part of the Brand and Engagement Directorate, we work to establish and communicate a compelling and consistent brand narrative to strengthen our engagement, and increase our reach and relevance.

This role focuses on customer communications, combining data, design and copywriting to curate a great experience. It would suit someone with proven ability using a marketing automation platform, a super sharp eye for detail and the editorial skills to independently adapt for different customer groups.

You’ll need to be able understand and manipulate data to embed segmentation and personalisation, have the logic to build customer journeys, and bring a confidence in your writing and creative flair that will help British Cycling content to stand out.

With involvement in almost everything the organisation is doing, it’s a great position for someone with an interest in sport (or even better, cycling). Plus, it’s a hugely exciting time to join, with our digital transformation plans about to unfold.

Responsibilities

  • From building emails and data capture forms through to setting up and refining automation journeys, you will support the Customer Engagement Lead to deliver day-to-day email communications.
  • Handle data in order to apply segmentation and respect preferences. This requires a considered and logical approach, while also drawing on creative skills to produce copy and assign imagery
  • Proactively ensure that the communications individuals receive are relevant and timely, working with teams across the organisation to ensure this.
  • Oversee all outgoing communications to ensure an appropriate cadence and level of care.
  • Plan and execute written content pieces and publish across multiple platforms, in line with a data-driven editorial calendar.

About You

  • Creative, curious and innovative, with a problem-solving spirit.
  • A strong communicator, who is confident to question.
  • A positive self-starter, highly motivated and able to work independently.
  • Organised and able to manage shifting deadlines together with the wider team.
  • Passionate about highlighting the impact of sport and physical activity.

What are the perks?

  • Competitive Salary
  • Cycle to Work Scheme
  • Generous Holidays (25 days + bank holidays)
  • Holiday purchase scheme
  • Life Assurance
  • Pension
