About the role

As one of our Technician Specialists, you'll have the unique opportunity to bring our distinctive John Lewis service directly to our customers' homes, installing products such as furniture, kitchen appliances, sound systems, and TV sets as part of a 2-person delivery crew. You will also coach and develop other delivery drivers in your team on home installations and customer service, serving as a role model for the high standards of John Lewis.

Note: Due to the nature of this role, applicants must be 18 years or older.

Key Responsibilities
  • Represent the John Lewis brand with excellent customer service.
  • Coach, develop, and assess your colleagues to enhance their performance and brand representation.
  • Assist in loading deliveries and work alongside the warehouse team.
  • Respect customers' homes and handle unexpected situations professionally.
  • Install products efficiently and demonstrate their operation to customers.
  • Stay updated on new products and technologies.
  • Maintain a safe working environment.
Essential Skills and Experience

Previous installation experience is required, and training will be provided through our installer accreditation. Additional requirements include:

  • Manual C1 UK driving license (max 6 points).
  • DCPC and Tachograph Card.
  • Experience driving a 7.5-tonne vehicle.
  • Experience in a customer-facing role.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Physical ability to handle large items such as furniture and appliances.
  • Good understanding of technology.

This role involves 41 hours per week, across four days (Monday to Saturday), starting at 06:00 and finishing at 17:00.
