About the role

As an Installation Specialist based in one of our Customer Delivery Hubs, you will bring our distinctive John Lewis service directly to customers' homes, installing products such as furniture, kitchen appliances, sound systems, and TV sets as part of a two-person delivery crew. Driver Trainee Responsibilities

• Complete the 12-month Customer Delivery Driver Trainee programme to become a qualified John Lewis Customer Delivery Installer.
• Provide excellent customer service, prioritizing the customer experience.
• Assist in loading deliveries and collaborate with the warehouse team.
• Respect customer homes and handle unexpected situations professionally.
• Install products efficiently, demonstrating their use post-installation.
• Stay updated on new products and technologies.
• Maintain a safe working environment.

This role involves heavy lifting, including large items like sofas, white goods, and furniture.

Essential Skills for Driver Trainee

• UK B-Category manual driving license with no more than 6 points.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Interest in technology and installation.

Desirable Skills

• Experience in installation and customer delivery driving.

Driver Installer Responsibilities

• Start at the delivery hub, then head out on route.
• Prioritize excellent customer service.
• Load deliveries with the warehouse team.
• Respect customer homes and resolve issues professionally.
• Install products efficiently and demonstrate their use.
• Keep updated with new products and technologies.
• Maintain safety standards.

This role also involves heavy lifting of large items.

Essential Skills for Driver Installer

• Manual C1 UK driving license with up to 6 points.
• DCPC and Tachograph Card.
• Experience driving a 7.5-tonne vehicle.
• Experience in a customer-facing role.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Good understanding of technology.

Desirable Skills for Installer

• Experience in white goods installation and disconnection.
• TV installation skills.
• Assembly of flat-pack furniture.
