About the role

As one of our Installation Specialists based in one of our Customer Delivery Hubs, you'll have the opportunity to deliver our distinctive John Lewis service directly to customers' homes, installing products such as furniture, kitchen appliances, sound systems, and TVs as part of a two-person delivery crew. Salary: Driver Trainee: £26,700 (Annual), Installer: £29,000 (Annual)

Driver Trainee Responsibilities:

• Complete a 12-month trainee program to become a qualified Customer Delivery Installer.
• Be an ambassador for the John Lewis brand with excellent customer service.
• Assist in loading deliveries and collaborate with the warehouse team.
• Respect customer homes and handle unexpected situations professionally.
• Install products efficiently and demonstrate their use.
• Stay updated on new products and technologies.
• Maintain a safe working environment.

This role involves heavy lifting, including large items like sofas, white goods, and mattresses.

Essential skills for Driver Trainee:

• UK B-Category manual driving license with no more than 6 points.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Interest in technology and installation.

Desirable skills:

• Experience in installation and customer delivery driving.

Driver Installer Responsibilities:

• Start at the delivery hub, then go on route to deliver and install products.
• Prioritize customer service and professionalism.
• Load deliveries with the warehouse team.
• Respect customer homes and resolve issues effectively.
• Install products efficiently and demonstrate their use.
• Keep up-to-date with product knowledge.
• Ensure a safe working environment.

This role also involves heavy lifting.

Essential skills for Driver Installer:

• Manual C1 UK driving license (max 6 points).
• DCPC and Tachograph Card.
• Experience driving a 7.5-tonne vehicle.
• Experience in customer-facing roles.
• Good communication skills.
• Understanding of technology.

Desirable skills:

• Experience with white goods installation/disconnection.
• TV installation skills.
• Assembly of flat-pack furniture.

Work hours: 41 hours/week, 06:00-17:00, Monday-Saturday, on a 4-week rolling rota.
