Job description

About the role

As one of our Customer Delivery Drivers, you'll bring the unique blend of quality Waitrose produce and Partner-led service directly to our customers' doors. You will embody our ethos - passionate Partners serving food lovers. When not on the road, you will support the shop team with daily tasks such as stock replenishment and housekeeping, contributing to the efficient running of the shop in a friendly environment.

Due to the nature of the role, you need to be 18 years or older.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Start your day in store, preparing for your deliveries.
  2. Check your delivery routes and load your van, ensuring all orders are ready for delivery.
  3. Complete vehicle safety checks, maintaining compliance with road safety and health regulations.
  4. Represent the Waitrose brand on the road, prioritizing excellent customer service.
  5. Assist customers with shopping and build rapport based on trust and service.
  6. Support the shop team with general shopkeeping tasks when required.
Essential skills/experience
  • Full valid B-Category UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Physical ability to lift crates and move cages.
  • Ability to work independently, self-motivated, and adaptable.
  • IT literacy.
Desirable skills/experience
  • Previous driving experience, especially with chilled vehicles.
