Job description

About the role

As one of our Customer Delivery Drivers, you'll bring the unique blend of quality Waitrose produce and Partner-led service directly to our customers' doors. You will embody our ethos - passionate Partners serving food lovers. When not on the road, you'll support the shop team with daily tasks like stock replenishment and housekeeping, contributing to the efficient and welcoming running of the shop.

Due to the nature of the role, applicants must be 18 years or older.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Start your day in store, checking your delivery routes.
  2. Load and prepare your van for deliveries, ensuring all orders are organized for efficient delivery.
  3. Complete vehicle safety checks, maintaining road compliance and health and safety standards.
  4. Represent the Waitrose brand on the road with excellent customer service as your priority.
  5. Assist customers with their shopping and build rapport based on trust and service.
  6. Support the shop team with general shopkeeping tasks as needed.
Essential skills/experience
  • Full valid B-Category UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Ability to handle physical tasks such as lifting crates and moving cages.
  • Ability to work independently, self-motivated, and adaptable.
  • IT literacy.
Desirable skills/experience
  • Previous driving experience, especially with chilled vehicles, is advantageous.
