Customer Delivery Driver, Supermarket Assistant

About the role

As one of our Customer Delivery Drivers, you'll bring the unique blend of quality Waitrose produce and Partner-led service right to our customers' doors. You will actively embody our ethos - passionate Partners serving food lovers. When you're not out on the road, you'll support the shop team with daily tasks like stock replenishment and housekeeping, contributing to the efficient and friendly operation of the shop.

Note: You need to be 18 or older to work in this role.

Key Responsibilities

1. Start your day in store, preparing for your deliveries.
2. Check your delivery routes and load your van efficiently, ensuring all orders are ready for delivery.
3. Complete vehicle safety checks, maintaining road safety and compliance.
4. Represent the Waitrose brand with excellent customer service on the road.
5. Assist customers with shopping and build rapport based on trust and service.
6. Support the shop team with general shopkeeping tasks when required.

Essential skills/experience

• Full valid UK manual driving licence (B-Category) with no more than 6 points.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Good time management skills.
• Ability to handle physical tasks like lifting crates and moving cages.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• IT literacy.

Desirable skills/experience

• Previous driving experience, especially with chilled vehicles, is a plus.
